Coriander leaves

Coriander is a tall annual plant. It is also known as cilantro or Chinese parsley, as the shape of its leaves resembles that of parsley. The parts of the plant used as a spice are the leaves and seeds. There is a significant difference between the two, so we must be careful to choose the right one. The seeds are usually ground and are also used in baking. Whilst the seeds have a flavour reminiscent of sage and orange peel, the leaves have a distinctive citrus flavour with a pronounced and unique aroma. It is a source of vitamins B1 and B2, as well as vitamin C.

Coriander is one of the oldest spices, most commonly used in the Middle East and Latin America, and is thus one of the main ingredients in curry and chutney. It can be used as an addition to salads, vegetable dishes, soups, cheese, sauces and eggs.

A coriander-based mouthwash is used to rinse the mouth, particularly for toothache.

Storage

Store in a dry, dark and cool place.

The packaging is very practical and can be recycled.
