Black pepper Penja

Much like white Penja pepper, black Penja pepper grows on volcanic soil, which has been proven to be rich in minerals. The soil thus offers ideal conditions for the growth of one of the finest and world-renowned peppers. To produce black Penja pepper, the fruits must be harvested whilst still unripe and then dried; for this reason, they are dried in the Cameroonian sun for 48 hours immediately after harvesting.

This selected black peppercorn develops its distinctive aroma and heat best in dishes featuring red meat. Its flavour, however, is – as is typical of black pepper – milder than that of white peppercorns.

Peppercorns are best ground just before use, otherwise the pepper quickly loses its flavour. However, when stored correctly, whole peppercorns can retain their flavour and aroma for years.

Packaging

An airtight zip-lock bag, in which the product retains all its freshness and aroma. The packaging protects against light and air, as it consists of several layers of protection that preserve the properties of the contents.

The packaging is very practical and can be recycled.
