Organic Long Pepper

Long pepper is a special type of pepper-like fruit which, just like pepper, has a distinctively pungent flavour. When compared to ordinary black pepper, it is immediately apparent that it is exceptionally aromatic; depending on its origin, it can exhibit a whole spectrum of different scents. Its flavour is significantly stronger, and it is accompanied by a sweet aftertaste.
Long pepper is indispensable in Mediterranean cuisine, and goes perfectly with wine-based sauces and cheese. It is found in both Indian and African cuisines. It is also traditionally used in Ayurveda.

In terms of texture, long pepper is extremely hard, so it can be grated with a grater rather than ground with a standard pepper mill. As with all peppers, it is advisable to grate or grind long pepper just before use, otherwise it quickly loses its flavour. When stored correctly, however, the whole peppercorns can retain their flavour and aroma for years.

Packaging

An airtight zip-lock bag or box, where the product retains all its freshness and aroma. The packaging protects against light and air, as it consists of several layers of protection that preserve the properties of the contents.

The packaging is very practical and can be recycled.
